Examination in Nigerian Universities, over the years, has been a major way of measuring and evaluating student’s performance, therefore students’ needs to be seriously monitored and identified. For this reason, most schools usually use student Identity Cards, Library Cards or Tuition Clearance Receipt to identify students during an examination yet it has a lot of flaws associated with it such as impersonation and document forgery. The need for a better approach to eliminate the afore-mentioned anomalies motivated this work. The project objective is to develop a two factor authentication approaches to ascertain students who are authorized to partake in an examination using finger print through Biometric device and National Identification Number. The Structured System Analysis and Design Methodology (SSADM) was used for the software analysis while Java, PHP, and Assembly language were used for the development of the software. We got expected good result through primary data collection from students, and few imposters were discovered and denied access during examination, also an electronic identity card for eligible student was generated. Thus this research will assist government and Schools, mostly for students of Education Measurement and Evaluation to do excellent job in their fields.
