TERAS (Tertiary Education Research and Application Systems) is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of users' personal information. This Privacy Policy outlines how TERAS collects, uses, discloses, and protects information obtained through its platform. By using TERAS, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.

TERAS collects and processes personal information in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR). Personal information may include, but is not limited to, names, contact details, academic records, and institutional affiliations. This information is collected to provide and improve TERAS's services, enhance user experience, and ensure the integrity of academic processes.
Information Sharing
TERAS may share information with authorized partners and service providers to deliver specific services within the platform. However, TERAS does not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer personal information to external parties without explicit consent, except as required by law.
Data Security
TERAS employs industry-standard security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of personal information. This includes encryption, access controls, and regular security audits. However, users are advised that no data transmission over the internet or electronic storage method is 100% secure.
TERAS acknowledges the possibility of payments for services within the platform. In the event of a payment-related issue, TERAS follows the refund policy outlined below:
Service Issues: If a user encounters issues with a paid service (e.g., EagleScan, ICDL), they are encouraged to contact TERAS support promptly.
Refund Requests: Refund requests must be submitted within 30 days of the transaction date.
Eligibility: Refunds are considered for cases involving service failures or technical issues. Refunds are not provided for issues beyond TERAS's control, such as user errors.
Refund Process: Refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. If approved, refunds will be processed through the original payment method.
By using TeRAS, you agree to the following terms:
User Responsibilities: Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their accounts and ensuring that the information provided is accurate.
Prohibited Activities: Users must not engage in activities that violate applicable laws, regulations, or the rights of others. This includes, but is not limited to, plagiarism, unauthorized access, or attempts to compromise the platform's security.
Intellectual Property: Users retain intellectual property rights to their academic works. However, by submitting content to TeRAS, users grant TeRAS a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and distribute the content within the platform.
Termination of Access: TeRAS reserves the right to suspend or terminate user access for violations of these terms or any activity that poses a threat to the platform's integrity.
Changes to Policies
TERAS may update these policies periodically. Users will be notified of significant changes. Continued use of TeRAS after the effective date of any changes indicates acceptance of the updated policies.
